Here you go Brits. Home fuel bills up £100

Ofgem, the body that supposedly regulates the privatised energy industry in the UK has just announced that winter fuel bills are rising by around £100.

Due to the rise in wholesale energy prices.

So all that guff yesterday by the Chancellor and the Prime Minister patting themselves on the back for not cutting pensions or benefits despite the 'tough economic outlook' was probably because they knew this was coming

this makes me quite curious and gives me all sorts of questions, so none of this is aimed to be confrontational or disparaging, it's all genuine 'I don't know how this would be there' - when you say up 100 pounds, what's that in a percentage term? and over the winter, you mean the 3-4 months for the whole season or per month?

it sucks to have price increases anytime, I'm just trying to understand how big this is, I guess.

@stound Current average household bill is £1834 per year going up to £1928.
A rise of £94 or 5%.

Analysts are predicting a drop in prices by March.
More down to the fact it will be spring; warmer weather; those with solar panels start getting better returns than through the winter months.....before anything to do with a cut in either inflation or 'wholesale pricing'
