What historical sites have you near you? Do you ever visit them?

This is Bodiam Castle.







It is owned by the National Trust, about seven miles away.
Visit it about once every five years.

the most prominent ones here are shameful and embarrassing for the most part ... the first US civil war began in my city, and our economy was tied to slavery for a long time prior to that ... anything pretty downtown was built by money from slavery (including the former second home of current gaslighting US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, which he sold for 22 million USD to move to DC to join the gaslighting administration)

there is also a WW2 aircraft carrier that is a tourist attraction on one side of the harbor

on a lighter note, some entities on a barrier island on the north side of the harbor have a tendency to be named for Edgar Allen Poe, since he was briefly stationed at the fort on that island when he was in the US Army (prior to his literary fame)

no, I don't regularly visit any historic sites here anymore
