Natural history vs. unnatural history.

Natural history is a broad sphere that collects information about what happened. It has no dog in the race. And it uses science.

Unnatural history is storytelling, where those learning may be learning fictions and half-truths.

You also then need to define recorded history, aka written, versus oral history. At some point the oral history may become recorded, but the written is then based on the oral which was subjected to variation over the years.
