The Kitchen of the Future 1970

William Woollard tests out a new 'Super Kitchen' - which uses futuristic design technology to minimize space, maximize storage and optimise cooking efficiency.

The centrepiece of tomorrow's kitchen is a revolving cylindrical column, which contains cupboard space, a dishwasher, a microwave oven, a refrigerator and a double oven. Ceiling units contain concealed lighting, storage units and plastic dispensers. The real revolution however, is a built-in domestic computer terminal, which you can use to quickly access recipes and work out cooking times. With all this state-of-the-art technology, the super kitchen of the future will make cooking so easy, even a man will be able to do it.
