Zionists know that Israel 🇮🇱is a settler colony.
Here are two famous arguments Zionists say when you state the indisputable documented fact that the state of Israel is a state founded by settler colonists and sustained by settler colonial cuckoos .
1/ “how is it setter colonialism if it was not done by an empire / country but by Jews who came to it from all around the world during first Aliyah second Aliyah etc etc etc ?”
I don’t recall reading any academic definition of settler colonialism that stated that settler colonists need to come from one specific empire or country.
The definition of settler colonialism is where -foreign- settlers establish permanent residence and replace the local population persecuting them in the process.
Sources : Wolfe Patrick , Oxford bibliographies , veracini Lorenzo.
When you come from abroad to a region already inhabited with their own social fabric and you reside in it and replace and oppress its local residents that is settler colonliasm.
It differs from traditional colonialism like British colonization of India
Where British exploited India taking their resources to the mainland
It was not about ethnically cleansing the Indians and taking over India replacing their population with white Brits .
The state of Israel was created by European settlers
United by Jewish Zionism. Just because they did not come from one country or one empire means nothing.
Ironically an empire did in fact have a role in it
After all those settlers would not have been able to even set foot in Palestine in such massive scale without the Balfour declaration
Where a British lord behind his desk
Signed a single worthless paper giving access to a land rich of people culture and history to another people from abroad.
So while the British empire was indeed not the reason the state of Israel came into being it surely facilitated its emergence on top of historic Palestine.
2/ “ the state of Israel is not a project of settler colonialism it’s a project of settler decolonization “
When you ask them for the reason they say because Palestinians are Arabs and the settlers replaced Arabic with Hebrew meaning they’re more native to the land .
However, if we restrict indigenousness to language
Then you are saying that before the revival of Hebrew Jews were not Jews!
Because the vast majority of Jews before the revival of Hebrew did not speak Hebrew lmao.
In fact the vast majority of the settlers who arrived in Palestine from Europe did not speak Hebrew but they learned it generation after generation.
And according to a study done in 2013 , Hebrew is the native language of only 49% of Israelis over the age of 20. The more you go back in time this % dramatically decreases.
So when you restrict nativeness to spoken language it really backfires at Zionist Jews the most😂
If decolonization was really their aim ,
They would have encouraged Palestinians or others to learn Hebrew and not start a project of settler colonialism .
It’s like a group of people from Russia & Germany started learning Gaelic then went to Scotland and started to replace the local population with the excuse that the local Scots don’t speak Gaelic and hence they’r native or more naive to it 😂
( only 1% of Scots can speak Scottish Gaelic fluently according to 2022 Scottish census )
So
If we restrict nativity to language then not only are Scots not native but so are the Egyptians and endless geographic areas in the world today who their populations been living in their land for a millennia .
But you know what’s funny?
List me - Semitic - groups that exist today -within - the Middle East
Here they are :
1/ Arabs
2/ jews
3/ Assyrians
4/ syriac
5/ mandaeans
Etc
What do you notice ?
Each one of them is a majority specific religion.
Most Jews follow Judaism
Most mandesns follow mandeism
Most syriac follow Christianity
Etc
There is not a single -Semitic - group in the Middle East other than Arabs that predominantly follow Islam even though Islam is the second largest religion in the globe in fact Islam extended so far that Arabs today constitute merely 15% of global Muslim population .
So how come ?
Are you saying no Semitic group other than Arabs converted to Islam within the Middle East? From history we know that’s not true since a lottt of Semites converted to Islam in the Middle East .
What happened is that Semites from other ethnic groups when they accepted Islam ,
They adapted Arabic since it was the lingua Franca and the language of governance and the language citizens used to communicate with one another
during the arab caliphates after a long time of Latin and Greek being the lingua Franca
The only people who didn’t , did so for religious reasons.
Hence why the modern Arab identity is a very diverse and an entire different identity it’s an identity that infused multiple identities into one creating a new identity and hence why 80-85% of the Middle East is Arab.
Now ironically the Europeans who produced to us this term called semitism believe that Semites were originally one population who spoke one language (proto semetic ) and then they were divided.
So what’s your issue with most Semites creating one modern identity that unite them today
Isn’t that returning to how it was ?😂
Now I am against Arabism especially modern Arabism that have roots in Ba'ath Party but I find it funny how westerners tell most Arabs today they aren’t Arabs but they are originally x or y and are Arabized not out of good will , but to divide the region pitting all against all for imperial reasons .
Yet they’r the same people who gave us the semitism theory that say all Semites originally were one people who spoke one language 😂😂😂😂😂
For f*ck’s sake.
Other than language they have no claim other than “we are the native people who don’t even know the names of our great grandparents coming back after 2000-4000 years to take the land back through brutal means from these not native people🐒🐒 🍑🍑”
I refuted this plenty in previous posts.
The thing is I don’t even have to do all of that since founders of Zionism and the state of Israel referred to it as a settler colonial project themselves 😂😂
When someone tells you who they are , believe it!
