Period of No Reich

The term "Third Reich" was used to refer to Nazi Germany under Adolf Hitler's rule from 1933 to 1945. The concept of the "First Reich" was used to describe the Holy Roman Empire, which existed from the Middle Ages until 1806, while the term "Second Reich" referred to the German Empire established in 1871 and dissolved in 1918 at the end of World War I.
