Sadly, saving money for the wealthy is more important than good paying jobs, that would pay for this in taxes.

This is the cost of extreme capitalism! More cars on the road means more profits for the wealthy in multiple ways. From gasoline, to insurance, to the cars themselves. And that is not even the short list.
