Maybe not. The US had a major impact on destroying Germany's war machine and infrastructure, from Norway to North Africa. Also a major force on destroying the Nazi and Japanese navies.

By the end of the war, 3.5 million Germans were in US or British prisons. and not available to slow or stop the Soviet progress westward.
