Who is your favorite historical person from your country and why?

Winston Churchill. Not only a Great War prime minister and leader, who helped defeat the evil Nazi regime, but his gift as a writer and orator is excellent. I started his “The English Speaking Peoples,” many years ago, and was blown away by it. Unfortunately, I never got that far because some crisis or another happened, and my focus was on that more than reading. I moved house, and think the book was donated, like many I had to leave behind.
