Anyone wonder why the US a=Affordable Care Act is called Obamacare? Why is social security not Rooseveltcurity, Medicare Johnsoncare? No president can pass legislaton, that is the job of Congress.

I think the answer is rather obvious!

if it is so obvious, what is it? This was a ramrodded piece of legislation when there was 60-40 in the senate. Obama could have modified it but didn't It was his "signature" legislation. and now we all have to live with it

It was a landmark attempt to give medical insurance, not health insurance by the way, to millions of US citizens who previously did not have any. If you look carefully at its history, it started with gov Romney in Massachusetts and then was totally torn asunder by the Congress at the behest of the medical insurance lobby and the pharmaceutical industry. The US is still the only civilized country without a guarantee of medical care.

the US isn't Europe. Benevolent ideas shouldn't be confused with good policy. it is a disaster. Have an orgasm that it passed like Nancy Pelosi did and then the rest of us clean it up for decades
