What's your knowledge of history really like? [I Love History]

This morning I spent correcting the views of a senior academic fellow on the Maginot Line and why the Germans actually did win the Battle for France. I couldn't believe my ears that the knowledge of historical facts is this low. I had to remind him that the non-retrievement of damaged French tanks and such were really important details. Is knowledge is a real decline right now?

Arguing the point of which side won a battle reminds me of the time I spent arguing with a user who insisted that the Texans won the battle of the Alamo. No matter how many times I reminded him that the Mexican army killed every single American and took the church, he swore up and down that the Alamo men had driven off the Mexicans and stood triumphantly stop the mission in victory.

Wow! That bad then. Couldn't believe the guy. And yes, he was American. And no, I'm not against Americans.

@val70 I live in America but I'm a Romani. I trash talk Americans a lot lol but I usually exaggerate it for humor.

That's alright, I think :) Don't some of them think that you're native American? I do have some really good American friends though. Very friendly.

@val70 Native American is a common one but the most often mistake I get is Mexican. It's why I have a Los Vatos Locos tattoo on my bicep lmao

@BlueMetalChick Gosh, that's a metal band? Must be a big bicep ;)

@val70 Oh no lol it's a Mexican street gang. Their insignia is a stylized "VL".

@BlueMetalChick Right. My mistake. Do you like history?
