ANOTHER FORGOTTEN SCOTTISH INVENTOR [I Love History]
Like Bain and Watson-Watt, John Napier is another Scottish inventor that history has often forgotten.
Napier lived at Merchiston, then just outside, and now inside, Edinburgh, and was the man who invented Logarithms - Napier's Bones as they were known. As he lived in the late 16th and early 17th century, there were dark stories that he was a wizard- but personally I think he merely wanted to torture generations of school children with his invention.
