I Love History

I really do not understand how ANYONE on GOD'S GREEN EARTH could be nostalgic for ANY PERIOD before the invention and widespread commercialization of the internet.

Life before that point as a student of history was almost not even worth living in...

I truly do not understand 1950s nostalgia in light of this.

Life was hell before mass communications.

You do realize that the 1950s had radio, television, telephone, telegraph, mass publishing media, daily news access through multiple newspapers and magazines, etc., right?

@ChipmunkErnie I hate credit cards to be honest with you because the rates of interest are just obscene, so I'm paying it off and trying not to use it again. I just needed to build a credit history, y'know? I need to raise my credit score. That's ALL I care about. Taking out a debt and making regular payments.

@PDXNative1986 No idea what my credit card rates are -- I always pay off the full balance when it's due. And if I'm shopping in person, as opposed to online, I pay cash in full.
