There’s no evidence he escaped and a great deal of evidence that he died in the bunker. Things aren’t true just because you wish they were.

@LeopoldBloom I believe he did escape justice and with his wife
@espoir I would need actual evidence of that, not just speculation.

@LeopoldBloom I don't want to believe that he escaped but I must listen to the arguments
@espoir What coherent arguments are there? I've never heard any.

@LeopoldBloom The lack of a body
@espoir They did find his body in the bunker.
espoir · 36-40, F
@LeopoldBloom They found 2 bodies outside the bunker but were never able to identify them for 100%
@espoir They identified Hitler through dental records.

@LeopoldBloom this is the controversy. Stalin said Hitler escaped. And the russians are the only people to have bodies. The said it might be doubles
@espoir Stalin didn't say Hitler escaped, he said his body was moved. There's no evidence that this is anything other than Soviet propaganda. Even the Russians claimed that Hitler was identified through his dental remains.

It would be astonishing if Hitler, one of the most famous men in the world, had managed to escape and remain undetected. It would be almost as astonishing if he had been captured by the Soviet army and either executed or imprisoned without some of the people involved talking.

I tend to discount conspiracy theories that require the perfect cooperation of large numbers of people.

@LeopoldBloom Good, he did escape.
@espoir You're welcome to believe that. I find it inconceivable that none of the people with that information said anything.
espoir · 36-40, F
@LeopoldBloom They were ordered to say nothing, but the usual lies
@espoir It's not logical that they followed those orders their entire lives, when spilling the beans would have meant inconceivable wealth for whoever did it.
espoir · 36-40, F
@LeopoldBloom War is not logical and they loved their Fureh . It's hard to concieve how much they loved him
@espoir I thought the theory is that the Soviets captured him and hid him for the rest of his life. What stopped the people involved to blab after the USSR fell? Nobody's that loyal.
espoir · 36-40, F
@LeopoldBloom It's not loyalty always. It is fear . You can't apply your logic to 1945 wars.
@espoir There was no reason not to spill the beans after the USSR fell, not to mention deathbed confessions. Capturing Hitler alive would have been too big a story to keep secret all this time. Documents at least would have surfaced by now.
espoir · 36-40, F
@LeopoldBloom Th love of the Fuhrer was the best excuse afterwards and since only 3 or 4 knew of if that wasn't even plausible that they were telling the truth.
@espoir There's no way Hitler could have been spirited out of the bunker and kept alive for even a few months without hundreds of people knowing about it.
espoir · 36-40, F
@LeopoldBloom you must start to believe that he was too much of coward to commit suicide. He covered every angle and done it. You must start to believe
@espoir I believe based on evidence, not speculation.
espoir · 36-40, F
@LeopoldBloom The evidence is there if you look closely enough
@espoir So show it to me. Evidence would consist of witness testimony, written records, or photos, not "he could have been captured alive, therefore he was."
espoir · 36-40, F
@LeopoldBloom if you can't see it already then you'll never see it
