@SmartKat It's already becoming that way regarding corporations. Local businesses are more and more getting replaced by huge companies with billions of dollars. Coca Cola even has its own set of scientists. Corporations influence massive policy changes without the public even knowing.

Well... The age of enlightenment also brought with it a serious counter culture. It's just not that easy.
But I agree if you say that education needs to teach children how to recognise valid sources and learn people to at least learn people how to make an evaluation and how to construct a reasonable argument. 😅

I think the barrage of information (and misinformation) brought on the by the rise of the internet and social media will require a new movement in philosophy (and by extension, culture at large). There hasn't been one in a while.
