Our beloved king Harald passed away this morning. He was known as Norways Grandpa thanks to his warmth, humor, inclusive ways, and not taking himself seriously. His wife, queen Sonja, was a "commoner" and Harald spent 9 years fighting for the right to marry her. Even threatening to abandon the throne for her.
He will be sorely missed
Our new king, Haakon, is as loved as his father for the same reasons. And like his father, he fought for the right to marry the love of his life: a single mom who was also a recovered drug addict.
The last few years have been extremely hard for the royal family with scandals and court trials among other things, but I have no doubt we're still in good hands.
