tRump has maneuvered the US into a lose-lose situation. Opening the Strait of Hormuz is what he needs, but Iran demands far more concessions than tRump is willing to give. tRump's threats to bomb civilian infrastructure are unpopular in the US; plus, that bombing would probably be a war crime. He has very little leverage left.

Furthermore, Iran understands that continued high oil prices undermine tRump's domestic and international support. The more Iran delays, the weaker tRump gets. For the US, it's lose-lose.

Let's remember how we got here. In 2015, Obama solved the Iran nuclear issue with the JCPOA agreement, lifting sanctions in exchange for nuclear inspections. In 2018, tRump un-solved the Iran nuclear issue by blowing up the JCPOA agreement and re-imposing sanctions. tRump said he could make a better deal, but failed to, and Iran restarted uranium enrichment.

I'm sure tRump would love to get back to the conditions of the JCPOA. But to come to an agreement requires trust, and tRump destroyed all trust with his Feb 28 surprise attack. We're in a deep hole of tRump's own digging. SAD!!

The entire situation is illegal. The US should not have gotten involved from the start. Trump should be arrested for breaking laws and ignoring the Constitution. He is committing war crimes every day.

Arrest Trump, get the US out of there, let things settle down.

Neither country trusts the other, and I can't see much trust being regained in the present situation.

This war is affecting so many other nations, I wonder if they will eventually come together and offer a treaty of their own with Iran, including sanctions-lifting, returning to safe passage of ships and restoring the nuclear treaty; sidelining the USA in the process.

America will protest but did sideline the rest of the world in first destroying the nuclear-development treaty with Iran, and now in attacking the country.

Iran's coast is the Eastern side of the Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz and Gulf of Oman; but the opposite coasts are of other nations; and Iran must recognise that.

Trump extended the ceasefire yesterday claiming the war is almost over. Iran responded by firing on and seizing two ships in the Strait.

Iran holds all the cards. The US only extended the truce because it delays the failure of the talks and the Iranian position is "Come back and talk to us AFTER you lift the blockade". They know that the Americans care more about high fuel costs and business profits than they care about civilians dying..They arent even close to negotiating., no matter what Trump says.😷

Trump has no idea about the Middle Eastern/Muslim mentality.
Trump set the cease fire. For the Iranians that's considered a victory for them with no connection to their current situation. That's how they see it. If the US sets the cease fire then the USA is the weak side.
