tRump is busy flooding the zone with disinformation. "We've had good negotiations," "Iran gave me a very valuable present" etc. He's also building up troops in the region, but that could well be another part of the disinformation campaign.
tRump has finally realized that what he needs above all else is for oil prices to decline. He won't get that with on the ground combat; that's why he's offering things like his 15 point plan that's even more favorable to Iran than the original 2015 Obama plan.
Iran also knows that what tRump needs above all else is for oil prices to decline. Therefore Iran can play delaying games and negotiate in bad faith while watching tRump's domestic support erode. Iran has tRump by the short hairs, all they need to do is play for time, and they know it.
