Anthropic Dials Back AI Safety Commitments

Anthropic had a deadline of Friday to submit to Defense Department demands over how its Claude tools are used after it told the Pentagon they couldn’t be used for domestic surveillance or autonomous lethal activities.

I thought the Pentagon does not have national jurisdiction.
