Free speech was hit by the left a long time ago. It's just the rights turn now.
Tucker Carlson (Fox News, 2023) – Lost his primetime Fox slot after years of progressive criticism; Fox said it was a business/legal decision, but left-wing pressure contributed to advertiser boycotts.
Roseanne Barr (2018, still carried into 2020 debates) – Show canceled after tweets widely condemned as racist.
J.K. Rowling backlash (2020–present) – Boycotts and attempts to de-platform due to her views on gender and trans issues.
Dave Chappelle (Netflix specials, 2021–2023) – Repeated campaigns to cancel his shows for jokes about transgender people (though Netflix resisted).
Joe Rogan (Spotify, 2022) – Progressive pressure for de-platforming over COVID misinformation and resurfaced slurs; Spotify kept him but removed some episodes.
Gina Carano (The Mandalorian, 2021) – Fired by Disney/Lucasfilm after social media posts compared political divides to Nazi Germany and mocked gender pronouns.
---
Brands, Monuments, & Media Content
Dr. Seuss books (2021) – Six titles pulled by the publisher for racist imagery after activist/academic pressure.
Mr. Potato Head (2021) – Rebranded as “Potato Head” after gender-neutrality debates.
Aunt Jemima / Uncle Ben’s / Land O’ Lakes rebrands (2020–2021) – Packaging and mascots retired after campaigns against racial stereotypes.
Statues & monuments (2020 peak, George Floyd protests) – Removal of Confederate statues, Columbus monuments, and others linked to racism/colonialism.
---
Academia & Public Figures
Jordan Peterson campus talks (2018–2022) – Repeated cancellations or protests at universities.
Charles Murray, Milo Yiannopoulos, Ann Coulter, Ben Shapiro – Multiple disinvitations or protests at colleges, mostly from left-leaning groups.
J.K. Rowling invited talks and events canceled after staff or activist pushback.
---
Sports & Miscellaneous
Washington Redskins / Cleveland Indians names – Changed to Commanders (2020–2022) and Guardians (2021) after activist and progressive pressure.
Kanye West (Ye, 2022) – Boycotts and cutting of brand deals (though his antisemitic remarks united left and right in condemnation).
Canceling certain comedians or commentators on college tours for politically incorrect jokes.

@DavidT8899 Yes I did.
Biden felt that disinformation during a pandemic was not in the best interests of the nations citizens and their health.....though courts have delivered mixed rulings on the legal boundaries of these actions.

Free speech is for populations who have a public internet with net neutrality.
You knew that! That's why you don't need the public to do public anything.
