Piers Morgan's migrant mystery: Blame the vodka sippers.

[media=https://youtu.be/8IDXANs-Zkw]

See 50:50.

On UK migration, Morgan says: “You can chart it back to when Tony Blair was prime minister, and suddenly took off all restrictions pretty much on people coming in from Eastern Europe. So it was never even a question of skin color as some people have tried to make it. We got a huge number of people coming from Eastern Europe, and that began to immediately change the fabric of the country in terms of pressure on public services and so on.”

Do you see what he did? He avoids scapegoating one group, the riskier group to scapegoat, by scapegoating another. Opting for the safe bet. Eastern Europeans. Very nice. Vodka please.

There is a tenuous connection, in that the government chose to liberalise the labour market in order to benefit from an expanded EU in 2004 (the new nations also included three Baltic states, Malta, and Poland - which is more logically a central European state). France attributes the cuurent attractiveness of the UK to loose labour regulations and an "informal economy".
