Voting among women and children: Should it happen?

Everyone seems to be able to vote now. What is going on? The world is falling to pieces. It has gone mad since women were allowed to vote. They should have allowed working-class men to vote, but not women. I say this as a woman. I do not think I should be able to vote. Young women are a particular concern.

What are your thoughts? Why do they want 16-year-old children to vote in UK?

I'd rather 16+ than 85+ voting
@d4effort For real. Those are the people actually voting for destruction.

@d4effort Why? An 85-year-old has seen things. They have lived. They pay tax and have capital. The elderly have lived through all the political garbage. They had parents and grandparents who fought in the world wars. Does it matter? Not to you.

Are men going to stop being judged for messing with 16 and 17-year-old girls?
emiliya · 22-25, F
@BohemianBabe Why do you say this?
d4effort · 31-35, M
@emiliya Yes, they both should. But if I had to pick, let a 16 year old vote rather than a 97 year old who could die tomorrow.

@d4effort We could all die tomorrow.
d4effort · 31-35, M
@emiliya Probably more likely a 97 year will die tomorrow than a 16 year old.

@d4effort Is it? I don't know. There was a sixteen-year-old who shared that she was using illicit substances here yesterday. She may be more likely to die.

Should soldiers not vote? Cancer patients? Drug addicts? Alcoholics? Police? Kids in American schools?

Ok, the last one was a cheap shot. I support gun rights. Do you?

@emiliya I'm English. What do you think?
@emiliya What makes more sense for a working-class person? Voting to cut social programs that help you so rich people can get more subsidies, or voting to expand these programs?

Old boomers are voting for politicians who want to cut social security, medicare, and the ACA. That definitely goes against their interest. So yeah, if people weren't allowed to vote past a certain age, it actually would be a net positive. I'm not saying that should happen, since voting is a civil right. But if we're talking about what benefits society, 16 year olds voting is much better than 80+ year olds voting.
