is america's social security system in danger

someone just said this on one of my posts, that they think the social security system in america will be taken away?

i am not in america but still wondered, will there not be some safety net for the people there?

i am fully in support of looking after people if they need it and supporting the vulnerable, so i do not think social security should be taken away.

Trump administration is taking steps to keep it viable

@Patriot96 Where and how?

@dancingtongue pay attention: by eliminating fraudulent claim and fraudulent recipients for starts.
Now that wasnt too hard, was it

@Patriot96 It seems to be hard for them. All they can talk about is 100+ year old recipients which, as has been repeatedly pointed out to them, is a default problem with far out of date COBAL data systems and taking a meat axe to offices and staffing so people -- particularly elderly and disabled with a variety of accessibility issues -- cannot interact with them and they don't have the resources to better screen recipients and applicants.

@dancingtongue SS was given 38 billion to update the system, 30 YEARS AGO. STILL NOT DONE

@Patriot96 30 years ago is pre Y2K and the default issues on dates.
