If Tim Walz wants to make a run for the presidency

Or whatever Democrat wants to run, if we have another election anyway, please for the love of god learn these words:

Right to Repair
Right to Plant

For the good of the people just learn those words

They won’t of course, no politician will. Because capital rules the world, not ethics.

But maybe, just maybe, somebody will get the message one day and reach those folks in my part of the world and we can stop the endless ratchet towards full fascism.

Might be a good person to run. He is one of the few working class people who still exists in the Democratic Party.

And I agree on those points but I think healthcare that is not an oxymoron might be something to start with.

I mean shit. People on both sides of the aisle are cheering for Mangione.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow People have been too brainwashed against it.

What I’m talking about applies to all farmers.

He starts talking about universal healthcare people will think “oh crappy doctors that never fix anything”

They’re not right, that isn’t the point. It’s an issue of messaging. They’ll get behind RTP.
@PalteseMalconFunch Nobody is going to be talking about crappy doctors that don't fix anything because millions of Americans can't even afford to see a doctor to begin with.

Talk about not having to start a GOFundMe because you got sick or had a fall.

Talk about healthcare that is not a privilege exclusive to the wealthy.

Right to Plant is a nice idea but even all the farmers in the USA are 1% of the population. That is as niche as you can get.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I would argue that you underestimate the number of people here that would support farmers above all else

I say this as someone who grew up here. You won’t just get the farmers.
@PalteseMalconFunch When when 68 000 Americans are dying because they don't have health insurance every year. When thousands go broke every year because of "health care" bills fixing that is something all Americans can relate to.

Not nearly enough people will support a bill that will hypothetically benefit 1% of the population. This might have worked as a strategy 80 years ago when farmers were closer to 30% of the population. It won't work now. Heck to most Americans where their food even comes from is an abstract concept.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I’ll be brutally honest percentages don’t tell the story. It is messaging. Above all else. They have to do this or rural Americans will vote for literally Hitler 2.0
@PalteseMalconFunch RTP will not change the reactionary radicalization of rural America. And that happened 80 years ago so you are a bit late to the party on that.

When you live in a democracy you have to appeal to majorities with issues that impact everyone first. You are not going to appeal to the majority by dealing with niche issues that only impact single digit minority groups.

And I am sorry but tens of thousands of Americans dying for no reason every year is by definition a more important issue.

It is also something that a New York Liberal and a "redneck" from West Virginia can relate to and find common ground.

You won't get city folk to fight for niche issues for farmers until you have made up enough common ground that they will care about their plight. It is just the way it is.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow So what? What’s your solution? How do we fix this?
This message was deleted by its author.
@PalteseMalconFunch The solution is my previous response.

Start with pressing issues that impacts everyone and sucks for everyone. Healthcare.

This also builds a sense of common ground.

Do enough of that and people will start standing up for the other when they are no longer seen as the other.

Also education. Communist parties used to teach people how to read and write and about labour history.

Nobody does that anymore.
