So if someone brutalized and assaulted your child while they were working as a cop

Would you want there crimes to be forgiven?

I'm not sure if this post is referring to a specific case or not,

but, it would really depend on what my child did.

Like, if they were a fully grown adult and did something terrible like murder, r*pe, hurting or attacking others etc, and they knew what they were doing.
then yeah, let the cops have em.

But on the other hand, yeah there are times where cops were out of line.
and the person did nothing wrong and they were treated abusively etc
then yeah, cops should be held accountable

@Fishy He didn't phrase it very well. Apparently he means if your child was a cop
Fishy · 36-40, F
@MethDozer Oh, lol

Yeah, if my kid was a cop and there were corrupt like that, then yeah I'd probably disown them

I would not. I would expect the entirity of the lawful citizenry to feel the same.
But there i go, expecting people to be human.

No. I probably also wouldn't be able to serve on the jury because I wouldn't be impartial to the defendant

@Jackaloftheazuresand Pretty sure being the parent isn't going to get ya on the jury.
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
@Vin53 yeah, I might give someone an unfair sentence despite them still being a criminal
Carla · 61-69, F
Think of those cops. How do you think they feel? Brutalized protecting our democracy, and having those they stand in front of, turn their backs on them as though their lives were of no significance.
Shameful

I would want justice served. This is what happens when the lawless are in charge of the law.
MethDozer · M
Nope. In fact I believe cops, judges, politicians should face a mandatory double the time or fine for any criminal act they commit. They should face extra punishment since they are in a position of power and are supposed to enforce the law. The standard should be much, much higher for them.
Vin53 · M
@MethDozer I don't think you understood the question. Try again please.
MethDozer · M
@Vin53 oh you mean my child working as a cop.

I'd disown them
