Why didn’t Trump place his hand on the Bible when taking his oath?

I didn't watch the ceremony so I honestly don't know a thing about it but if there is any blame to attach I would put it on the one conducting the service. Why wasn't the Bible there? Was it because the service was rushed? Was it because the one officiating didn't wait for the Bible to arrive? Obviously it is not a critical thing to the swearing in but I also read that Trump was going to use the Bible his mother gave him when he was a teenager.

i dont know, but, his enemies will use this as ammunition against him. i would say that it may even give some who believe in him, a moment for a sideways glance.
