New UK Post Office scandal predates Horizon

It's slowly dawning on the UK government that they are about to be inundated with claims by potentially hundreds of former UK postal workers, sacked, prosecuted or even jailed for exactly the same reasons as the current Horizon scandal only a generation earlier thanks to another faulty system known as Capture.

And then you think back to all those current high level bosses who, throughout the current inquiry, sat in front of the whole world denying knowing of any wrongdoing with either the system or the accounting in full knowledge that it had happened before.

Somebody gotta go to jail i think.

The trouble with these scandals is that no one at the top gets prison time. No one is stripped of their assets.
Shameful disgrace.
Australia had a similar situation called. Robodebt.
Government officials and the high ranking Public Servants instigated an automated debt assessment and recovery scheme for welfare recipients.
$746 million was wrongfully recovered from 381,000 recipients.
A Royal Commission was called and ran it's course.
The outcome?
Nothing - A few sanctions ranging from reprimands to fines and demotions.
Peoples lives were destroyed, people committed suicide and the top ranking Government officials and Public Servants stated - "I was not told" or "Not my responsibility"
