Assad Flees Syria as Rebels Take Damascus
President Bashar al-Assad’s immediate location was not initially clear after rebels took control of Syria’s capital. The foreign ministry of Russia, a longtime ally, did not provide details on where he had gone, saying only that he had resigned and left the country.

@jshm2 and the American aggression is the last thing Americans would ever verbalize about.

Why are you thanking Nato? Nato is a defense organization not democratic organization. And you include Iraq, Afghanistan and libya. Iraq after the war in Iraq is a little better off, miraculously. Afghanistan and Libya however, are a completely different matter. I don’t know what you are playing at but you need your head examined. That you are saying is untrue.

@Greyjedi
Defend what? Not one of the NATO member states,least of all the US, has been attacked since NATO's formation after WW2. But NATO, namely the US and its allies and partners, has been bombing and attacking every goddam country in the name of defending democracy and freedom.
None of the countries trampled on by NATO has a better outcome. They are like women molested and raped by a band of thugs. The women they screwed naturally gave bastard babies to the thugs in the form of war refugees flooding into NATO countries. Paris and Rome now have the look and smells of Damascus and Beirut. Even here in the US, Mid-East people are everywhere. Their culture has crept into my life. I have been making humus to eat with Mexican tortillas for lunch.

Americans are happy to give whatever they can to make democracy at home everywhere.

@SW-User exactly right, you can definitely separate the ones that listen to mainstream media, and the ones that search further afield

@BridgeOvertroubledWaters I thought it was pretty obvious that my post was ironic.

How on earth did you ever come up with that nonsense? Serious question. There will be no democracy in Syria.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@hippyjoe1955
There is no democracy anywhere on the planet. This ridiculous idea was sold to a bunch of fur trappers and hog farmers by our founding fathers to get their support to throw out the Brits in 1776. This modus operandus of revolutionary war has been used over and over again by the US since the Korean and Vietnam wars to destabilize foreign governments and assert dominance thru regime change. The damn shit show is ongoing in Ukraine and the Middle East.
Trump could be another George W Bush leading the calvary charge into God knows what. I have been fooled too many times.
