The Haitians can still prosecute Trump from Haiti via a lawyer for whatever reason. They still will be deported, it's a 100% certain at this point.

@Dignaga
Not that certain. They’re here legally in Springfield. They haven’t committed any crimes, and they’re the ones being victimized. That might generate sympathy.
@DocSavage I went to springfield last week. They are causing alot of chaos with illegal driving (same as pittsburghz we had a illegal alien unlawfully driving here, killed a guy). And they caused rent to explode, and the community gets very little in return. For the few who got their ducks in a row legally, and have a green card now, they can stay, but the vast majority are illegals. The community wants them gone. I went there and questioned people, made a post on it.

@Dignaga
Do you believe it justifies the lie ? That’s the question.
Trump and Vance made up the story. That is still against the law, and regardless, they are here legally. Your post doesn’t change any of that.
@DocSavage says

Not only are they here legally, many of them were admitted by the Trump admin. Refugees from Haiti had Temporary Protected Status for most of the Trump admin.

And according to the WSJ,
...This recent wave of Haitian immigrants was initially welcomed. The town’s fortunes had declined alongside those of the rest of the Rust Belt, with the population dropping from 83,000 in 1960 to 59,000 in 2020. The pandemic created a crunch in the available labor force as many workers stayed home out of choice or necessity, collecting stimulus checks.

... The local economy boomed. Business owners said they were grateful to have workers eager to work long shifts and do what it took to meet production goals. New subdivisions sprung up in the cornfields outside town. New restaurants opened. The Haitian flag flew at City Hall.

@DocSavage The story evolved, get over it. It's not about eating cats, its about how the US government is bringing in illegals unchecked to dump in small towns in the midwest. Trump and Vance intend to stop that. I support their efforts.

And they didn't "make it up" it was all over social media. If it turned out that the cat eating was wrong, but illegals were still killing water fowl and causing traffic accidents, then its still an important issue and it should be discussed.

We can all see you want to shut this story down because it isn't politically convenient to you.
DocSavage · M
@SumKindaMunster
I don’t want to shut the story down. Just pointing out that Trump and Vance are getting some pay back for being so irresponsible.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@DocSavage Right, because if there is ONE thing that Trump respects and will get him to change his ways its suing him. I'm sure Trump is very concerned.

I think you DO want to shut the story down or at least manipulate the narrative. You're stuck on but but but the CATS man, when everyone else is looking at how our government is dumping 20000 Haitians in a small town in Ohio and looking to do more of that all over small towns in the midwest.

That's the issue, not some social media nonsense about cats.
@DocSavage Oh yes, and that's why we need to keep the story alive. tRump's habit of serial lying is FINALLY catching up with him!

Wrong. My interest in this story is the false accusations against a community for political reasons. I don’t deny there are major problems with the situation.
I don’t deny that Trump has made the situation worse for his own ends.
But here we have a case where he knowingly made false charges against a community, who suffered needlessly because of it.
Law seems to be lacking in this election. I would like to see it up held.

@DocSavage And you believe that the feelings of Haitian immigrants is more important than calling attention to the government resettling them and other 3rd world immigrants across America?
DocSavage · M
@SumKindaMunster
I agree. It’s no longer about eating pets. It is now allowing a group of legal immigrants, take the blame for something that didn’t happen.
I don’t consider it ethical to victimize them in order to go after the illegal ones.
DocSavage · M
@SumKindaMunster
I believe they’re entitled to their rights. The claims against them are false. You want to do something about illegal immigrants, than go after the illegal immigrants, not the legal ones who haven’t committed any crimes.
Ynotisay · M
@Dignaga Why would they be deported? And why would you lie about going to Springfield?
You might want to talk to a professional dude.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@DocSavage Killing protected water fowl and driving without a license are crimes. Not serious crimes, but they are crimes.

Again, I ask, because you ducked😆 the question...

you believe that the feelings of Haitian immigrants is more important than calling attention to the government resettling them and other 3rd world immigrants across America?
DocSavage · M
@SumKindaMunster
Stop changing the subject. Trump and Vance accused a community of a crime they didn’t commit and didn’t happen.
That is the issue I’m addressing . The lie is not justified.
I don’t consider it ethical to blame 20,000 people who are here legally.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@DocSavage Stop changing the subject says the guy who brought up crimes committed by Haitian immigrants....

You want to do something about illegal immigrants, than go after the illegal immigrants, not the legal ones who haven’t committed any crimes.

They DID commit crimes, killing protected water fowl and driving offenses ARE crimes. They got the cat thing wrong(turned out to be African immigrants in another city) but there is no denying what I just said. They are calling attention to the people who have to be burdened by this....

And I am assuming you are not impacted by this. If you were, you might feel differently.

Getting back to the subject
The crimes committed by the Haitians, are considered unsubstantiated. No evidence.
They got the cat thing wrong(turned out to be African immigrants in another city
Bad mistake. By wrongly accusing the Haitians is Springfield, Trump and Vance inspired bomb threats and caused disruption in the schools and the government of the city. So, the charges pending against them are in fact substantiated. The immigrants are innocent and Trump and Vance are the criminals, because they continue to spread the lie.
And that is what was posted.

Legally? This is a Biden Administration ploy to "legalize" illegality thru a program (see below) that allows illegals into the US until they are put on the back burners and forgotten. There are now 20 million who are here "legally" and climbing. Meanwhile, they have babies that give them another right to stay in the country.

Many Haitian migrants have arrived in the U.S. under the Biden administration's Humanitarian Parole and Temporary Protected Status programs. The programs allow migrants from Haiti, as well as Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela, to enter the U.S. legally if they have a sponsor and meet strict vetting criteria. Those who are eligible can wait within the U.S. while their longer-term immigration status is decided on. (Newsweek)
@sree251 Nice try!! Actually, Haiti had TPS status thru almost the entire Trump admin. Trump tried to end it as early as 2018, but a lawsuits extended it.

Congress created Temporary Protected Status (TPS) in the Immigration Act of 1990. This loophole of a previous era has never been plugged by the US Government. It allows illegals to remain in the country as matter of political expediency to the detriment of the American people. Trump tried to end it. As President, he had the authority but the lower courts placed injunctions to block him. The Supreme Court would have over-ruled the lower courts if Trump had remained in office for a second term. Below is more info on the shenanigans of the Biden Admisinstration.

The Biden administration granted Temporary Protected Status through Feb. 3, 2026 for Haitians who arrived in the United States on or before June 3, 2024, and that status can be renewed. Haiti is one of a number of countries whose nationals can qualify for TPS, including Ukraine, which was invaded by Russia and is at war.

Some of the Haitians in Springfield have applied for asylum, which allows them to remain in the country until their case has been adjudicated by immigration authorities. Still others have been aided by a Biden administration initiative that enables people from Haiti who have a financial sponsor in the United States to apply to enter the country and remain here legally for two years. They do not receive green cards.

The various programs made many of the Haitian newcomers to Springfield eligible to work legally, making them particularly attractive to employers.

Under federal law, many Haitian immigrants in Springfield are entitled to receive some public benefits, such as Medicaid and food stamps. (The New York Times)

That’s the problem. It didn’t happen. Trump accused the wrong people. And they got the bomb threats as a result of his misinformation.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@DocSavage You are narrowly focused on the most pedantic aspect of this story.

I assume that is because it suits your political wishes.

The Haitian immigrants did kill water fowl, have been involved in traffic accidents, have squatted on other's property and took jobs that could have been made available to actual citizens of Springfield.

Trump called attention to all that. Ya can't put the genie back in the bottle and you can't control the narrative or what people say and believe about this story.

Sorry. 🤷‍♂

True. We've been needing immigration reform for 2 decades. It didn't happen during the first two Trump years when Republicans had the House, Senate, and White house, did it??

However, proposed in early 2024, the Bipartisan Senate border bill would have plugged a bunch of loopholes. Unfortunately, Trump told a few spineless senators to KILL THE BILL!!!

Trump didn't want Biden to have a win. Trump wanted immigration to be a problem he could run against. SAD!!
