Putin will of course wait to see if Trump wins. Trump will cut off all aid to Ukraine.

That is the current DNC fear mongering line.

Not so sure about that. Even in the debate, Trump refused to voice support for Ukraine nor could he offer any criticsm of what Putin was doing.
All he could say was that it wouldn't have happened if he was president because he would have got Zelenski and Putin together and fixed it (don't worry about the details).
@Pikachu That is called being a politician. Playing both sides on the campaign trail.

I would also point out Trump was far more harsh on Russia in terms of sanctions.

Only the DNC requires swearing an oath of support to Zelensky.

But it is irrrelevant. Russians stopped believing in the fairy tale that any POTUS is good for Russia 20 years ago.
@Pikachu It ultimately doesn't matter though. The Pentagon has basically already said they have nothing left to send in any kind of quantities and Russia is outproducing all of NATO including the US on things like artillery shells.

Playing both sides on the campaign trail

Harris has taken a stance. For most politicians around the world it's non controversial and yet Trump can't even say Ukraine deserves their own sovereignty.

So i think you've got a bad take there.
It's not a DNC fear mongering line, it's a legitimate concern based on the ex president's words and behaviour.
@Pikachu True. But as I pointed out in her party an oath of loyalty to Zelensky is the norm. Not so much with the GOP.

And the US overthrew the Ukrainian government. So it is cute to hear bs arguments of sovereignty.

And as I pointed out it is not a serious claim.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow

And as I pointed out it is not a serious claim.

...what do you feel has been said here that suggests it is not a credible claim that Trump will allow Russia to keep taking territory by force?
@Pikachu Because what he has actually done did not benefit Russia at all. Trump has chronic verbal vomit and says all kinds of things and often contradicts himself. Words mean nothing.

As I pointed out he cranked up sanctions to 11 on Russia and is unstable.

The Russian government including Putin have also said he is the worse option for them.

And only Americans are so self absorbed to think anyone in Russia seriously thinks anyone in the White House will change anything for Russians.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow

The Russian government including Putin have also said he is the worse option for them.

...and you trust what the Russian government says?...
Did you trust them when they said that they were just doing a training exercise prior to the invasion of Ukraine?

only Americans are so self absorbed to think anyone in Russia seriously thinks anyone in the White House will change anything for Russians.

So Putin doesn't want Trump in office but also only self absorbed Americans think that makes any difference.
Got it.

Maybe that's so....but one candidate can't even side with a country being invaded and the other agrees with most of the world that the special military exercise is disgraceful.

Nothing more to say here, really.
@Pikachu Sure. Because it is perfectly logical.

To believe the "Russia wants Trump" You have to believe the bs that Putin is a cartoon version of a crazy person that doesn't actually exist in reality.

Of course any leader has their own opinions on who they would prefer. Trudeau is not a fan of Trump.

But only Americans are so self absorbed to believe their election will have any meaningful impact on Russia.

And by most of the world that is code for American allies.

The actual majority of the world doesn't see things from the NATO narrative.

But it is very American to think the West are the only countries that actually matter.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow @Pikachu Well, we know MAGA is for cutting aid, and he conditioned weapons to Ukraine (source of first impeachment). There are reports Putin was kidding about "endorsing Harris." From the debate, and has been pointed out, he will not say he wants Ukraine to win.

We'll see...
@Bumbles The bit everyone conveniently leaves out about Trump making aid conditional is that he reversed his own decision on that. That is always conveniently forgotten.

And nobody talks about how he ramped up sanctions.

He also talked "no more wars" and then hired John Bolton. Not exactly a hippie.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow

You have to believe the bs that Putin is a cartoon version of a crazy person that doesn't actually exist in reality.

Nope.
You just have to believe that Putin thinks Trump can be easily manipulated....and we know he can. Did you see the debate? Harris exploited his ego and baited him effortlessly. You think Putin couldn't do the same?

So yeah, it's a credible criticism and suspicion that the man who openly admires dictatorial strong men and who refuses to side with a small country being invaded by a superpower will make excuses to cease aiding them.

I'm not saying you side with Russia invading a sovereign nation...but you have a bad take and in my opinion you haven't made a compelling argument that it should be taken seriously.

I'm gonna end it there.
I'll give you the last word if you want it.
@Pikachu And now you are resorting to mind reading. This is not serious.
@Pikachu No comment on the 2014 coup? I guess sovereignty only counts in pro American countries. Ditto for self determination.
