The attempted assassination of Donald Trump

This was a deliberate attempt at killing Donald Trump. Americans should rejoice that he has lived to see another day. He is a man who is sacrificing his time, his reputation, his freedom, and now possibly his life to save America. How could you view the footage of this attempted assassination and not feel empathy for him, and be glad that he, by some miracle, survived?

Where does the alleged assassin come from? Why did he try to murder Trump?

It was from the top. All other efforts made in the attempt to destroy Trump politically have failed, so now they have turned to violence.

@TexChik Actually, an assassination attempt is the last thing Trump's opponents would do. It makes Trump a martyr. I expect the shooter will turn out to be a lone mental case. And he was a lousy shot.

FYI - A trained professional sniper would certainly NOT use an AR-15 for a long-distance shot. A trained shooter would have used something like this,

@badminton So that's why Myorkas refused to grant Trump extra security, and a "novice" was able to get within 150 yards with a clear line of sight from an elevated position...and why the SS ignored the public's cry for help after spotting the shooter before he fired. The CS team fired on him only after the president had been hit? Yeah, there's nothing to see here. The sniper would have made a brain stem shot on Trump at that range had Trump not suddenly moved. The most famous protection force in the world just made a colossal blunder...That never happens.

They would love him to be a martyr. You cannot vote for a dead man. He would be out of the presidential race and forever silenced.

even an amateur marksman could've made that shot with a 10/22 using a cheapo walmart optic

that "gunman" had very little to no firearm discipline & experience
