What the hell is the matter with us? Living in a hate filled society where it’s acceptable to have differing views or opinions seem to be gone.
It’s rare when reading comments that I see comments where the writer has actually taken some time to really think about what I they write and respond with reason. It’s rare on here and rare in real life. In fact while I have many relatives, friends and acquaintances both business and pleasure NONE are capable of a calm civil conservation and exchange of views when it comes to politics. Would you say that this sort of thing started during the Nixon administration or the WJC administration? I think the ones prior to Nixon didn’t engender this and then ones between Nixon and WJC didn’t have the ugliness we have had since 2015 and shows no sign of getting fixed. Will it even get fixed? If so how? It seems similar to families for some reasons being on the opposite side during the Civil War. Do you think the discussions about rearranging some state boundaries will result in anything? It could have a calming effect. I’m sure. I one would agree to anything which would change the balance of electoral power (seats in Congress, extra or less Senators, Electoral College, etc.). The only positive I can see is somehow making similar thinkers together within boundaries which might reduce tensions? Is that too far fetched? Is it something that might possibly even work?

Fearmongering amongst the far right has led to a stiff intolerance on that side for anyone who does not agree with the lying narrative being put forward by the fascists amongst American politicians. This intolerance has, quite naturally, been met with intolerance from the left, as bigotry often triggers anger. Unfortunately, that angry reaction from the left only confirms the lying narrative from the right that Americans on the left are hateful and angry all the time.
