3 prisoners die of thirst in a jail, consequences of living on a prison planet.

They were mentally ill and unable to recognize that they were thirsty and so they ended up dying. Jails are not for the mentally ill, cops are enforcing the law, not therapists. They are not qualified. To paraphrase the lawyer in the video, if the state chooses to house mentally ill people in jail and criminalize illness, then yes you do indeed make yourself responsible by default.

Apparently the jail doesn't understand mental illness and that's a problem.

Prison should be illegal, if you send people to prison then off to jail you go!

@Rolexeo I just think with cases of mental illness where the person isn't even aware, cops are not equipped with that. And I think it's really easy for neurotypicals to be neurotypical in the way of "if it doesn't affect me, it's fine." But I mean everyone thinks they can never end up in those situations until you do. Then you'll wish people with more experience with anything you're going through were around.

People generally only care if it directly affects them.

@Rolexeo well no we need prisons, what they need to do is improve how they’re run simple.
