18-Year-Old Football Star Shot and Killed at Party
"A high school football star was tragically shot dead at a house party in Humble, Texas on the evening of March 9, 2024. The incident has sent ripples through the local community.
The victim, Jarvon Coles, an 18-year-old senior at North Shore High School, was unintentionally caught in the crossfire at the event, as reported by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).
Law enforcement arrived at a rented home on Fieldwick Lane around 11 p.m., responding to reports of underage drinking at a party attended by 50 to 60 individuals. The gathering took place at an Airbnb rental property.
An emergency call later directed deputies to the same location where they found Coles in the backyard. Initially thought to be suffering from a seizure, it was later revealed that he had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. Despite immediate life-saving attempts, Coles sadly passed away shortly after being taken to a nearby hospital.
HCSO Sheriff Ed Gonzalez indicated that the shooting seemed to be deliberate, with one or two suspects firing at the house from a car a block away before driving off. The sheriff has called upon the community to share any surveillance footage that could assist in identifying the perpetrators.
Coles was noted not only for his prowess on the football field but also for his academic accomplishments. The two-time first-team all-district linebacker had a 4.1 GPA and had secured acceptances from 15 colleges. He was set to attend Lamar University, with plans to continue his football career."
