Dems want to give three times more to Ukraine than for border security? In addition to all our prior money given to Ukraine?

@jackjjackson I don’t know the analysis of the spending levels, or requests from relevant agencies. It could be the weapons are more expensive, or maybe there is room for a negotiation. I’d just like to see a deal on both fronts.

Actually that “omnibus” covered three fronts (Israel, Ukraine and the border). More confusion in the ongoing effort to rob us blind. @Bumbles

@jackjjackson I’m not sure what the confusion is as the coverage about the bill makes clear the three subjects are in the bill. It seems like standard politics to me. I’m for all three.

Way too little for the border. Only 17%. Must be half or more of the total. Why not protect US at least as much as foreigners? @Bumbles

@jackjjackson If it’s not enough, I agree, should be more. I just don’t have the subject matter expertise to know whether 20 billion is enough. Comparing it to another number in and of itself doesn’t provide me with that information.

I’d like to change asylum laws, for example. That wouldn’t cost anything, and would help quite a bit.

Enforcing them would. Even the non enforcement of existing laws will take tons of money to correct. Likely $1T isn’t enough to do that and what you propose. @Bumbles

@jackjjackson I was thinking about making the rules for asylum more strict so people could be turned away at the border. Economic refugees should not be allowed to make the claim. Or, if they make certain claims, that doesn't mean they get to just go anywhere they want. Maybe there are costs associated with that.

Certainly makes a lot of sense to me as part of finally getting and keeping it right. @Bumbles
