@DavidT8899 Nope. Disqualified from running for office with no criminal conviction. Some of them took it to court and lost, since no conviction is required for disqualification as per the Amendment.

@DavidT8899 No. They were disqualified from future office and then sued in vain attempts to reverse the disqualification, since the 14th Amendment is clear that no criminal conviction is necessary.

@DavidT8899 Wexare very concerned with thd shambles that is the UK. However, our major issue is that we have a major political party, currently in Government, who are following the lead of the Republicans in the USA. To be fair both the tories and Republicans are following the gameplan of Goebbels in 1930's Germany. And, again to be fair both have political systems that need to be brought into the 20th, let alone the 21st century.

@GrinNude The problem is that the nitwits who wrote the federal constitution made the assumption that the people were not complete idiots. So, while the intent may have been obvious to them it went completely over heads of the idiots. Even the worse-written State constitution is 100% better than the poorly written federal constititution is.
