She did not say that they should have crotch examinations, she indicated that it would be inevitable if doubts about someone's biology were expressed. If someone says that a particular sports person is a biological male rather than a female then there would need to be a means of establishing the facts. However, to suggest that genital examination is the only means, or even the most reliable, is disingenuous.

@HoraceGreenley Policies in the workplace are being put in place after corporate lawsuits where they or another corporation has lost one and it got challenged in higher courts and they still lost. This is the way to go these days as much as I hate lawsuits they’ve become necessary to stop the madness. Even the threat of a lawsuit sometimes helps with that.
Athletes have to undergo physicals for their sports so why do a crotch exam. Remember how any young female gymnasts got violated that doctor, who got prosecuted and is spending time in prison now? Cortez is a goofball.
All athletes would need is a hospital certification of birth, if you were born with a vagina you can compete in women’s sports, if you were born with a penis then you can’t. Simple. AOC is just exaggerating for shock value.
