According to TMZ, he had sent his assistant on an errand, and upon their return approximately two hours later, they discovered Perry unresponsive in the jacuzzi and immediately called police for emergency assistance. It's been reported that no drugs were found at the location, and foul play is not suspected.
Responding to the incident, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department informed that officers were dispatched to Perry's residence in response to a call regarding the death of a male in his 50s. However, the identity of the deceased was not confirmed by the police at that time.
