Can we please get past the clownshoes of demonizing trans people and get to the way the debate usually goes? I never thought I'd be nostalgic for this.

yes. that's how human society works. if fear causes you to do bad things, then you change your attitude towards good and evil so as not to feel like a cowardly weak slave.
