New Information Emerges on Derailed Train Believed To Be Carrying Hazardous Materials in Arizona
A derailed train that reportedly carried hazardous materials was actually carrying a cargo of corn syrup, according to an Arizona’s Family report.
The CBS affiliate reported Thursday morning the BNSF train that derailed on I-40 near the border between Arizona and Nevada did not spill any contents.
“BNSF Railway can confirm that a train carrying corn syrup derailed” around 7:40 p.m., company spokesperson Lena Kent said in an emailed statement to CNN. “There were no injuries as a result of the derailment and preliminarily reports indicate there are no hazardous materials involved.”
