Colorado Springs shooting

The shooter was taken down by a US Army veteran of 15 years who had served in Iraq and Afghanistan. The army veteran was attending a drag Queen event with his wife and daughter at the club.
His actions saved many more club goers from being innocent victims of a hate crime.
This guy is a true American. He deserves a medal.

Saw the interview. One of the dancers got his daughter out of harm's way while he went into "combat mode" and took the shooter down by grabbing his body armor from behind. When he saw the killer had a pistol, he grabbed that and started beating him over the head with his own gun while, reportedly, one of the drag queens started jumping on the killer with his spike heels. By the time the cops got there -- only 6 minutes after the first 911 call -- it was over and the killer was unconscious.
@ChipmunkErnie so this was stopped by a couple of good guys without the need for a gun? That's very heroic, but also interesting for the whole debate.

@NerdyPotato It was pretty much stopped by a vet of the Afghanistan War who said he went into combat mode when he hear the shots: hit the floor, saw the shooter headed after more victims, went after him and took him down from behind.

@NerdyPotato not really.. a gun is more effective than bare hands. But you use what you have and you live or you don't. don't overthink it!
@GerOttman of course, but that doesn't take away the fact that good guys with guns weren't involved in this, yet a bad guy with a gun was.
