To all the veterans who have fought for good causes... Ernie

1200 peaceful environmental protesters determined to occupy a nuclear construction site - undeterred by the tear gas, water cannon and billy clubs that awaited them. This day it was a 'take no prisoners' confrontation because the 1414 protesters recently arrested had overwhelmed the New Hampshire justice system and there was no more room in the jails or national guard armories to hold them. Nuclear power is our best choice right now These protesters should have gone and found a job instead of annoying everyone with their stupidity.

@tallpowerhouseblonde Best choice for who? Not for future generations who will be stuck with the radioactive waste. This nuclear plant which was built at waters edge is now being decommissioned because it is too expensive to repair the cracks in the foundation. This radioactive mess will soon be underwater. This is not the best solution for New England fisheries.
@GrinNude They are 0 emissions, and are renewable and completely reliable. Find one that's better.

Nuclear power and hydropower form the backbone of low-carbon electricity generation. Together, they provide three-quarters of global low-carbon generation. Over the past 50 years, the use of nuclear power has reduced CO2 emissions by over 60 gigatonnes – nearly two years’ worth of global energy-related emissions.

The "radioactive mess" although small as you put it is being moved and stored safely elsewhere until it can be destroyed, so no they will not be underwater soon, or in the next few centuries.

Yes, they all have their advantages and disadvantages, however the definaye advantages outweigh the possible disadvantages.

@tallpowerhouseblonde This took place on a 3-day weekend because most people had jobs.

The town meeting voted this proposal down three times and it was being forced upon the citizens anyway.
@GrinNude Im not a fan of being forced something, so yeah thats crap.

@TallMtnMedic Stored safely elsewhere is not happening. Nuclear waste is being stored onsite at US nuclear power plants. The proposed safe storage site at Yucca Mountain hasn't happened.

@GrinNude If you have a better energy solution than nuclear power please say what it is.I would love nuclear fusion reactors to be built. With investment we could be there soon.I would love to see more solar energy, wind energy, tidal energy. Not fossil fuels. The cost to our environment is just too high.
