These election day threats are getting close to home
Kenner is a relatively diverse and democratic island inside of a hugely conservative and more affluent parish, and the school in question is a tremendously popular charter school with a huge waiting list full of kids from all over the metropolitan area.
Thankfully, the school was closed today, and hopefully none of my friends who teach there will be affected, but at the same time, this violence stuff really gets me.
Please, SWeeps, even if you believe the other side is the devil and wants to exterminate or outbreed you, think twice before you take preemptive action.
This one, assuming it's not a hoax, is a pretty good example of how pointless such violence might be. Kenner's relative minority and slightly more Democratic voting base is miniscule compared to the rest of Jefferson Parish, and while it might be an easy place to avoid prosecution for making a political statement, its not likely to actually make a damned bit of difference.
I hope they can scan the place and let kids go back to school tomorrow, and all this crap will end up costing is thousands taxpayer dollars, but it really seems like a waste.
