Hershal Walker says, I'm Native American.

He says his Grandmother was full blood Cherokee and that makes him a Native American. Hershal's Mother disagrees. Hershal is completely insane so why does he still have a good chance of becoming a Republican Senator?

Because of "the base." It's a 2-for-1 for them. By supporting and voting for him they can claim "evidence" they are not racist AND they can "own the libs" by voting for someone who is so unacceptable by any standard. Combine their minority with the Insurrectionist-Republicans who want power no matter what, and a cross-section of Evangelicals who only are interested in SAYING they are for family values, against abortion, law-and-order, and Christian values and you get a close race.
