Former Dem Congressman Jailed Over Voter Fraud Charges

A former Pennsylvania congressman was sentenced to over two years in jail for committing election fraud aimed at helping Democratic candidates.

“Protecting the legitimacy of elections is critical to ensuring the public’s trust in the process,” FBI Philadelphia Division Special Agent in Charge Jacqueline Maguire said in a press release last week. “Through his actions, Ozzie Myers pointedly disdained both the will of Philadelphia voters and the rule of law. He’s now a federal felon twice over, heading back behind bars, with time to consider the great consequence of free and fair elections.”

Former Rep. Michael “Ozzie” Myers pleaded guilty to frequently stuffing ballots, conspiring to illegally vote in a federal election and deprive civil rights, voting records falsification, and bribery in favor of Democratic candidates, according to a Department of Justice press release. He carried out the schemes in Pennsylvania during the 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 elections, the DOJ said.

Myers served in the U.S. House between 1976 and 1980 but was expelled from Congress for bribery and served three years in prison.

But democrats said there was no election fraud.

@luv2fish they lied

@MasterLee Imagine that....
@luv2fish No, they said the amount of fraud votes was far too little to change the outcome. And every election has some fraud, but the 2020 was the most accurate.

@BohemianBabe Yeah, right. So explain how an incoherent, bewildered, cognitively diminishing basement dweller could win a "fair" election? I am curious.
@luv2fish Easy. The main issue people cared about in 2020 was covid, which Trump completely failed to handle. 2020 was a referendum on Trump. He failed, so people figured, the other guy might be better.

@BohemianBabe

Good job!!!
@sunsporter1649 That's nice, but it's beside the point. Biden did things to reduce the harm of covid. Trump only made it worse.

@BohemianBabe have to call bullschiff on that
@MasterLee Not an argument, but ok.
@luv2fish Joe can explain it to you. Maybe you’ll believe him.

@sunsporter1649 they conveniently forget
@sunsporter1649 Do you think Biden and Pelosi are the same person?
How bad is your brain damage?

@BohemianBabe "While Democrats in March attack President Donald Trump for not doing enough to end the coronavirus epidemic, the same Democrats were bashing the president’s decision to ban travel from China in January.
In January, President Trump banned all foreign nationals who were in China during the time of the coronavirus outbreak from entering the United States. Many pundits and health experts have since credited this decision with helping to slow the coronavirus pandemic on American shores.

However, at the time former vice president Joe Biden railed against the decision.

During a campaign rally, Biden said that “In moments like this, this is where the credibility of a president is most needed, as he explains what we should and should not do.”

“This is no time for Donald Trump’s record of hysteria and xenophobia, hysterical xenophobia, to uh, and fear mongering,” Biden continued."

It is unclear what Biden would do to combat the spread of coronavirus if elected president, as most of his public statements have focused on criticizing President Trump on the issue, and not putting forward his own plan.
@sunsporter1649 Biden never bashed the travel ban. He bashed Trump's racism towards the Chinese. When asked about this at one of the debates, Biden even said, "he is xenophobic but not because of the travel ban."
But right-wing media, as usual, lied and said that Biden claimed the travel ban was racist, which wasn't the case.

I supported the travel ban too, but I've said Trump is (pretending to be) racist for other things he's done.
