Why do Fox News sources not have last names?

I don't pretend to know whether Fox thinks it's protecting its "sources" or if they're protecting themselves, but this seems odd to me, and a little scary.

Are people really targeting Fox "witnesses," are they afraid they might be targeted, or what?

Do "man in the street" comments need to even have "first" names? And if so, why?

Fox "news"? The stuff is staged. They *may* be reliable in their sports department.

They are the official propaganda outlet of the Republican Party.
Perhaps in these days of social media etc they’re worried about people who don’t like what they have to say tracking them down.

@RogueLoner lol. I hear you, and it so happens that I was looking for suspicious stuff while looking through my Fox feed, but why give people first names to humanize them, and conceal their last name?

This isn't "whistleblowing" in the traditional sense. They're folks questioning how their tax dollars should be spent.
