Its time to just say it, Donald Trump is the Second Coming of Jesus Christ

It doesn't matter if the rest of us see him as a worthless piece of s**t. For tens of millions of people he's not only stainless but incapable of doing anything wrong. I watched a supporter on camera euphorically declare that she knows in her heart he has never lied.
Gotta be Christ, right?

For this legion of people he's a saviour. Nothing less. Right from the start Evangelicals were declaring him put here by the hand of God. Literally. They'll do anything for him. They hang on his every word and wait on his command. Yesterday a man was shot dead by police after he attacked an FBI facility with a nail gun, presumably in defense of Trump. So there you go, they'll even die in his name.
Gotta be Christ.

It doesn't stop there. Republicans from Fox News to Capitol hill are telling me endlessly that Trump is a victim of evil forces trying to keep him from doing his humanitarian goodly goodness. He's a martyr in his own lifetime. He's Jesus Christ.

I guess this time around Merrick Garland is wearing the robes of Pontious Pilate.
Oh wait, that's right! This time around Christ doesn't get crucified.
This time he's here to destroy the world.

Because Trump is seen as this savior sent by god by so many people it now makes me wonder what the hell Jesus was up to

@CountScrofula Jesus died on a cross. Sad. You’ll never see me on a cross. For one thing, it would topple over from the weight of my penis, which we all know is uge. 🍊

The answer is in 2 Esdras 6:55-59 (CEB) = "55 “I have said all these things before you, Lord, because you have said that you created the oldest age[a] for our sake. 56 You have said that the other nations born of Adam are nothing, that they are like spit, and you have compared their abundance to a drop from a pitcher. 57 But look now, Lord! These nations that are valued as nothing rule over us and devour us, 58 while we, your people, whom you have called your oldest offspring, your one and only child, those who are zealous for you, your dearest ones, are handed over to them. 59 If the world was created for our sake, why don’t we possess our world as an inheritance? How long will this situation last?”
