Climate change is harder to deny as heat waves become more frequent...

Heat waves are just one of the types of extreme weather climate change becoming more frequent

So hard to believe there are still people out there who are climate change deniers! Look around at all the extreme weather lately…seems very obvious to me not to mention the real science that proves our planet is in trouble.

@Fairydust That doesn't even make sense. It's all about the dollar. Big corporations are afraid that it's going to cost them to find cleaner ways to do business. They pay for their own 'scientific studies' that only benefit their bottom line. Then they push these 'studies' as fact. Add in using politics to sway people, and the end result is the situation we're in now.

@Paladin
well Obviously it’s about the money, many factors.

Science is a sham, the ones they pay anyway. Corrupted 👀

@sassyleah25 Wise move.
Those that care to not see will just burry their heads deeper in the sand where it is cool.

What I find interesting is that even if you want to pretend everything is life, this is the nature cycle of life on this planet, wouldn't you still be wise enough to think "huh, this is different. We ought to prepare our societies to deal with this, do things to not make it even harder on the earth for those of us who, well, live here". instead of pretending like it's always been like this and its fine.

@nonsensiclesnail in twenty years the US will have no water, what then?
Invade Canada for its water?
California is out of water, look what’s happening there! It’s the beginning, get your heads out of the sand
Fox News is now claiming that this is good because there will be less people using oil products.
They went from "climate change isn't real" to "okay, it's real, but after it kills millions of us, the shit will correct itself."
@BohemianBabe And the morons that love FOX will lap up contradiction after contradiction and never even notice the flip flops........or care.

The heat waves and fires are the sharp end of the climate change spear. The real issue is way larger and systemic. Drought, Flood and crop failures, The covid and Ukraine situation is tiny compared to the long term damage a small shift in food and water supply will bring about. And unlike a war, you cant switch it off and take it back..😷
Haven't you heard? I'ts not hot. All of that is made up......a Chinese hoax to make us pay more taxes. Every trumper knows that.
Sadly cognitive dissonance based on ideology is not dependent on such trivial things as objective reality.
So? You no longer need excuses. Murka not do stuff. Murka fine.
GrinNude · 61-69, C
@Roundandroundwego Murka fine at what?
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@GrinNude Ignore the low effort troll.
Fairydust · F
It’s made up BS to gain control, if you know what they are doing.
It’s obvious.
Fairydust · F
@GrinNude lol you just believe the fake news. 📺

@Fairydust I see. You're just trying to be funny. No one believes such nonsense.
Wiseacre · F
Obviously..
Jungleman · M
i think weather modification systems could play a part too, like HAARP for instance.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@Jungleman I hadn't thought about it, but you're right. Anything humans do to fuck with the weather could be responsible for permanently changing the overall climate.
GrinNude · 61-69, C
@Jungleman I think we should limit this discussion to real science. I can understand people would prefer science fiction conspiracy theories to escape this reality but in my humble opinion, it does none of us any good
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@GrinNude I don't know how far fetched it is, but you're right that we do know the primary cause of climate change at the moment, and that is pollution. Some folks don't want to reduce pollution.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
That's why at this point, only the biggest idiots are denying it. It's just too bad some of those idiots are in power.

@RogueLoner most of them aren’t going to be comfortable.

@GrinNude yeah rural areas especially near lakes where light breezes flowing over them can feel a lot more cooler than being in a city. Except for 1980 when I lived in a rural house and we had a record heat wave. One of the rural electric company employees told my sister-in-law in July that we were stealing electricity. We were suffering without a/c and probably had one of the lowest electric bills of anyone because of it not to mention me hanging laundry out on the clothesline to dry, propane cookstove etc.
Paladin · 61-69, M
@RogueLoner Well, with the increasing frequency, and severity of heat waves, air conditioners are becoming more of a necessity than a luxury. We've already seen an increase in the number of heat related deaths over recent years. Of course this is fed by the changes we are seeing in our climate. So it's kind of a vicious cycle. Of course there are eco friendly air conditioners, and that technology is improving. It just shows when motivated, we can find cleaner ways to do business.
