Women and their fetus will die. The Republicans/Evangelicals don't care. They knew this would happen.

@Pitchblue It’s about control. They want to control women’s sexuality, over which they obsess. The fetus doesn’t factor into it, despite their claims, which don’t match their actions.

@bijouxbroussard It is about saving the baby, at least for most pro-lifers. People are free to do what they want but not to kill another human being, especially an innocent one. Hospitals should just man up and treat women while simply not performing abortions. it's that simple, at least I would think it would be
@bijouxbroussard It's always been about controlling Women. We've already heard one or two of the crazier GQP politicians suggest that Women shouldn't vote. Funny thing is Mage and BoBo would fight to pick up that flag and run with it.

@TexasDude No, it is not, at least not based upon actions. The GOP consistently votes against affordable healthcare that would provide prenatal care for women who are on a fixed or limited income, they vote against programs like Head Start that would provide assistance with early education, nutrition and other benefits for the children they’re insisting be born.
You can’t have it both ways. If you’re making a stranger’s pregnancy your business, for goodness sakes, be consistent ! Don’t decide "it’s not my problem" once the children are born.

@Pitchblue Ectopic pregnancy isn't an elective abortion; it is literally necessary to treat it to save her life. It's tragic for the baby but there is no other option. My pro-life subreddit has debunked the idea that ectopic pregnancies are in any danger. Anyway, I have said my piece and it feels like we are going in circles. Have a nice evening

@bijouxbroussard Big Government isn't always the answer. The Affordable Care Act, for example, caused a lot of problems for people. You were essentially penalized for not being able to afford health care. So just because something isn't happening your way, it doesn't mean that someone doesn't care or isn't trying to find a good solution.

@Pitchblue They don’t care about the babies, they don’t adopt or even foster children in numbers any higher than those of us who are pro-choice. And they certainly don’t care about the women. Because abortions will continue, only the safe ones where women and girls survive will be fewer. 😞
TexasDude · 31-35, M
@bijouxbroussard Many pro-life do adopt. Those who can't, tend to support adoption and similar programs to help children of all ages.
@bijouxbroussard The Red States have an abysmal record when it comes to Foster Care. Loosing thousands of kids. You have to wonder whats going on there?

@TexasDude In states where your governor despised Barack Obama and made the ACA as expensive as possible , that may be true. In my state, more people were covered than ever before, and a lot of lives were saved.
The ACA originated with a Republican (Mitt Romney) and was well received in his state, so I’ve no doubt that the only reason it was a problem was because the Republicans felt the need to demonize anything they could associate with Barack Obama, in spite of whatever good might’ve been possible.
Incidentally, the GOP had 7 years plus Trump’s 4 year term to propose something replacing the ACA for the American people—and promised that they would. But so far, nothing.
They destroyed the first comprehensive health care plan our country’s had, leaving many with no coverage.

@TexasDude Wrong. The so-called "pro-life" don’t adopt or foster in any higher numbers than anyone else.
@TexasDude You are saying the law in Texas is wrong. They should not be turning pregnant Women with complications away but you are voting for the people who will enforce the the law. Right now Doctors in Texas don't know which law to follow 1925, 2021 or the trigger law that bans abortions outright. You are voting for the people who left Doctors in the dark.
