Is it really ignorant to stop watching the news?

I've had a Media blackout for quite a while now (except coverage of UK heatwave) and dont really know what's going on in the world.

Strange thing is, I feel carefree and happier not hearing and seeing all the sadness and negativity out there.

I'd say yes especially if you vote. If you don't pay attention to what's going on that would be willful ignorance but I understand needing a break as it's insane currently.
